“Bring the Word Challenge” is an opportunity for the Kids Ministry at Stevens Street Baptist Church to challenge kids to bring their Bibles with them to church. We hope that looking up Bible verses and passages in their own Bible at church on Sundays and Wednesdays will help them be more comfortable picking it up and reading it a home.

Why is this important?

We all know that spending time in the Word strengthens and deepens our relationship with God. A few years ago, LifeWay Research did a study on factors of spiritual health in young adults. It revealed that the #1 positive predictor of spiritual health was if the they read their Bible regularly as a child. We want to help you encourage your child to read their Bible at home!

Looking for a Kids Bible?

There are many great options for Kids Bibles if your child does not have one or you are looking to get them a new one. In the Kids Ministry, we primarily use the CSB Translation (Christian Standard Bible) because it is used by most of our curriculum choices. We encourage kids to have a complete copy of God’s Word with the full Old and New Testaments. Here are just a few options to check out:
