Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, for ever and ever! Amen.
— Ephesians 3:20-21

 What is He is Able?

He is Able is the next step in our plan to maintain the financial, ministerial, and missional health for our church after the recent completion of the new kids building and lobby.

The completed building project in May 2021 provided the following additions and improvements to our church campus:

  • A new preschool (1st floor) and kids (2nd floor) building

  • An expanded lobby and front entrance

  • The ability to move adult life group rooms to the main building where the preschool and kids ministries were located

He is Able is a follow-up capital campaign to help pay the remaining debt owed on the building. The current balance is approximately $5.5 million.

Read a letter from Pastor Scott about He is Able below.

Our kids absolutely love coming to church, and we really love the community aspect of Stevens Street. We are super thankful to be part of a church that shares the Gospel and truly loves the community.

Campaign FAQs

Was the building project a success, and did the project stay within budget?

Yes, the project was a complete success, and we do not have any “buyer’s remorse.” We stayed within the fixed price cost given to us by our design/build firm, COSCO. We had some initial expenses outside our contract with COSCO in the preliminary phase. However, all costs were planned, and there were no major finiancial surprises.

Why do we need a second capital campaign? Was this the original plan?

From the very beginning we knew most churches conduct two back-to-back capital campaigns to pay for major building proejcts. Our first campaign, “Arise & Tell,” has raised more money than what was originally committed. Praise the Lord! A successful second campaign will help reduce the debt to an amount that could be simply added to the annual church budget. Also, He is Able will allow new church members to join the vision and experience the blessing of giving.

What is the length of He is Able, and when will the giving begin?

He is Able is a 3-year giving campaign. There will be a Commitment Day on Sunday, April 10 and actual giving will begin on First Fruit Sunday on May 1. Commitments to He is Able will end in April 2025.

How do I continue my online giving from the first campaign to the new one?

If you have been giving online to “Arise & Tell” and would like to continue your gift, there is nothing that you need to do. Your gift will continue. However, if you would like to make any adjustments to your amount, please login to your giving account at stevensstreert.org/give. “Arise & Tell” giving will conclude on Sunday, April 17 and “He is Able” giving will begin with the “First Fruits Sunday” on Sunday, May 1.

When we visited, we fell in love with Stevens Street. It became home to us. The congregation became pursuant of us. We wanted the body of Stevens Street to pour into our children, and we felt that immediately.

We got married and moved to Louisiana, but about a year and half ago, Tennessee called us back home. We were looking for a place where the word of God is preached, taught, and song - and all of those things we found at Stevens Street. We immediately felt welcomed, and it was home for us.
