Worship Ministry Weekly Update

May 18, 2023

Happy Thursday, everyone. Here’s what you need to know this week:

Coming Up

This Sunday

Sermon text: Luke 17:11-19
Psalm 150 (Praise the Lord)
How Marvelous (I Stand Amazed)
His Mercy is More
Psalm 46 (Lord of Hosts)

Notes

  • One upcoming schedule change of which to be aware: on Sunday, May 28 (Memorial Day weekend), we will have ONE worship service at 10:00am. Call time for band/orchestra will be 9:00am, choir will be 9:30am.

  • We are fast approaching Summer! Let me encourage you to finish out the semester strong. The choir takes a brief break in the month of July, but until then, we are singing and serving each Sunday (with the exception of June 4—VBS week). Our church loves and responds to our choir’s leadership so well; if you are in town, come lead worship with us!

  • Ladies, be sure to pick up your copy of Women of the Word in the choir room if you haven’t already. There is actually a podcast that goes along with the book if you are interested; you can find info about that here.

  • Betty Speck, recovering from surgery. Praise: there is no cancer in her lymph nodes.

  • Looking to pray something specific for our church? Pray Ephesians 3:16-19.

An Extra

On Easter Sunday, we took the opportunity to do a multi-track recording of several of our worship songs so that we could go back and polish and mix the live recording. I don’t believe I’ve shared those recordings with you yet, but I wanted to let you see/hear so you could be encouraged!

I was pleased going back and listening to each vocal and instrument part, and I think the recordings turned out very nice. I love hearing God’s people sing, and I’m so grateful for all of you who help lead our church in worship, whether it’s in choir or behind an instrument or computer or sound board. Thank you for serving so faithfully, and giving your time and talents to make much of Jesus and help keep our church and her Song connected.
