Notes
In case you missed it at the top of this week’s update, we are subbing in He is Our God for Christ is Risen, He is Risen Indeed this Sunday.
Our School of Performing Arts Spring recitals are today and tomorrow! We have five recitals: Friday at 5:00p & 7:00p, and Saturday at 10:00a, 1:00p, and 3:00p. You are invited to come and enjoy some great music as our students share what they have been working on. We have a number of worship ministry members involved in this ministry as teachers and students; I am so proud of their work, and thankful for the fruit we have seen in creating Christian artists who love to serve the church.
The Impact Summit is right around the corner! April 23-26 are the dates. Full worship ministry will lead services at 6:00pm on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. Please make every effort to participate in every service that you can.
Prayer Requests
The Bagci family (Ali, Michelle, Reagan). Reagan (13) has a rare bone cancer. He has begun chemo treatments at St. Jude in Memphis.
Betty Speck, surgery to put a watchman on her heart on April 18, and another surgery to remove a cancerous mass they found recently.
Mike Seal, recovering the use of his kidney.
David Barrett, whose cancer has returned. He will be going through another round of treatments.
Looking to pray something specific for our church? Pray Ephesians 3:16-19.
An Extra
The choir began looking at a brand new song on Wednesday, that we plan on introducing to the church in May. It’s a recently-written hymn by Matt Boswell and Matt Papa called Almost Home.
It’s a song that talks about the journey of the Christian life (much like the great literary work, Pilgrim’s Progress) living as strangers in this world as we make our way toward our heavenly reward. What I love about this song is the way the lyrics speak of we, not I.
This journey ours together, we’re almost home.
As the church of God, it is His purpose for us to encourage one another along our journey (Hebrews 10:24-25). We are in this together, and being a church member means helping your brother and sister along—constantly carrying one another’s burdens and lifting each others’ eyes to Jesus.
How can you actively serve a fellow church member this weekend?
